Living-room furniture
The living room is the room where a family sits, talks and watches television. In a living room we can find a couch, an armchair, a table, chairs, a lamp, a clock, a bookcase, a cupboard and a television. We say a before a word that starts with a consonant sound: a table, a lamp. We say an before a vowel sound: an armchair. Point to each thing in your living room and say its name.
This is our living room. Do you like it?
Yes! I see a big couch and an armchair.
We have a television and a lamp too.
And what is that tall thing?
It is a bookcase. It has all my books.
There is a blue couch in the living room. There is a brown armchair too. A bookcase with many books is by the wall. The family watches television in the evening. A lamp gives warm light.
Name the furniture. Go to the living room. The grown-up says a word: couch, lamp, table, clock. The child runs to the thing and touches it. Then the child says a word and the grown-up touches it. Draw the room and write the names.
