Connect P3 Term 1: Unit 3
GoalSay the exact time: ten thirty-five.
New words
hour · sixty minutesminute · a short time; sixty make an hourexact · just rightat · we use it with a time: at ten
Explanation

We can say the time exactly with two numbers: the hour first, then the minutes. 10:35 is ten thirty-five. 4:15 is four fifteen. 7:50 is seven fifty. The short hand shows the hour. The long hand shows the minutes. Each number on the clock is 5 minutes: the long hand on 7 means 35 minutes. We say: I swim at ten thirty-five.
