A story about a big dream
A story has a beginning, a middle and an end. In this story a boy has a big dream. A dream is something we want to do when we are older. We say: I want to be a pilot. We reach a dream with small steps. We study, we practise and we do not give up. At the end of the story the boy feels proud.
| Part of the story | What happens? |
|---|---|
| Beginning | Omar looks at the sky and has a dream. |
| Middle | He reads and works hard. |
| End | He flies a plane and feels proud. |
Omar lives in Luxor with his family. Every evening he sits on the roof and looks at the sky. He sees a plane with small lights, and he says: I want to be a pilot one day! His grandfather smiles and says: A big dream needs small steps. So Omar reads about planes every day. He works hard at maths and English because pilots need them. At school he draws a plane and shows it to his friends. Many years later, Omar flies a plane over the Nile. He looks down at the green fields and the boats. He feels happy and proud, and he thanks his family.
Dream talk. The child tells the family a big dream for the future and one small step to reach it. For example: I want to be a pilot. I read about planes every day. The family says one kind word to help the dream. Then the child draws the dream on a poster.
