Объяснение
The introduction of the textbook presents imaginative literature as something that has developed together with society, spirituality, culture and art. Spirituality (ma’naviyat) is the whole of a person’s national and universal values: a person’s feelings, way of thinking and outlook are judged through it. According to the book, literature glorifies each people’s homeland, customs and national character, and at the same time sings of feelings dear to everyone, so it knows no geographic borders. A beautiful work from one nation’s literature can become the spiritual property of another people. To enrich spirituality, not just any reading helps – works that meet high artistic standards are needed. The collection offers chosen examples of folk oral literature, ancient Turkic literature, classical Uzbek literature, new Uzbek literature and world literature.
Примеры
Example: although a Navoiy ghazal is written in Uzbek, its thoughts on love and loyalty are clear to a reader of another people too – an illustration of literature “knowing no borders”.
Example: at the start the authors place a short poem by G‘afur G‘ulom as an epigraph – a short text put before a work or chapter that shows its spirit.
Работа в классе
Work in pairs: each choose one work you have read and say in two sentences which quality (kindness, courage, justice) it strengthened in you.
