Explanation

Say where you want to go with عَايِز أَرُوح (a man) or عَايْزَة أَرُوح (a woman) and the place: عَايِز أَرُوح المَحَطَّة. Learn these as fixed phrases. In a taxi, ask the price with بِكَام and say وَقَّف هِنَا when you want to get out. In the metro, ask for a ticket: تَذْكَرَة وَاحْدَة، مِن فَضْلَك. Ask the price with التَّذْكَرَة بِكَام؟

Class activity

Play a short scene with a friend. One of you is the passenger and one is the driver. The passenger says where to go, asks the price and then says وَقَّف هِنَا. Change roles and use the man or the woman form of «I want».

Practice

Say «I want to go to the station» (a woman speaking).
