Explanation

Egyptian food words are short. عِيش (ʿēsh) is bread; this is an Egyptian word, and the standard language uses a different word. جِبْنَة is cheese, بَيْض means eggs and رُزّ is rice. فُول (fūl) is cooked fava beans, a very popular breakfast. سَلَطَة is salad, فِرَاخ is chicken and لَحْمَة is meat. Say what you have with عَنْدِي and what is missing with مَفِيش. With a feminine food, the adjective ends in ـَة: السَّلَطَة حِلْوَة.
