Explanation

This is the review of Part B. You can greet people, say who you are and where you are from, and name things. You know that nouns are masculine or feminine, and that ة marks most feminine nouns. You know that الْ means “the” and that the l is silent before sun letters. Adjectives and colours come after the noun and match it. Pointing words match it too. For questions, put the question word first: مَن، مَا، أَيْن، مَتَى، كَيْف، كَم، لِمَاذَا, or begin with هَل for yes or no. Read the texts here aloud once more, then write your own talk.

Class activity

Write your page. Write six lines: a greeting, your name, where you are from, a question with مَا or أَيْن, an answer, and a goodbye. Use at least one colour and one adjective, and give every word its vowels. Read the page aloud. Then ask a friend the same questions and write down the answers.

Practice

Press Listen. Which colour do you hear: أَبْيَض or أَسْوَد?

Which sentence is correct: الْغُرْفَة كَبِير or الْغُرْفَة كَبِيرَة?

Write in Arabic: “where is the new pen?”.

The picture shows the moon. Write “the moon is white” in Arabic.
