Explanation

A command tells someone to do something; you met some in the recipes of Unit 9 (اِغْسِل، اِقْطَع). Learn four: اِذْهَب “go”, تَعَالَ “come”, اِنْتَظِر “wait” and خُذ “take”. They are for one man. For one woman add ـِي: اِذْهَبِي، اِنْتَظِرِي، خُذِي. The woman's form of تَعَالَ is تَعَالَيْ. Add مِن فَضْلِك to be polite. After the word وَ the first alif has no mark: وَاذْهَب. To say “do not”, put لَا before the present form: لَا تَنْتَظِر, “do not wait”. Learn it as a whole phrase.

Class activity

Give a friend (a man) four commands with اِذْهَب، تَعَالَ، اِنْتَظِر، خُذ. Then give the same four to a friend (a woman). Add مِن فَضْلِك to two of them and لَا to one.
