Explanation
To talk about the weather, use الْجَوّ or الطَّقْس with a describing word: الْجَوّ حَارّ, “It is hot.” Both words are masculine. For rain, snow and wind, say هُنَاكَ and the noun: هُنَاكَ مَطَر, “It is raining (there is rain)”. To ask, say كَيْف الطَّقْس الْيَوْم؟ In the past use كَانَ: كَانَ الطَّقْس جَمِيلًا أَمْس. Two more weather words are مُشْمِس “sunny” and غَائِم “cloudy”.
