Explanation

At the hotel go to the reception, الِاسْتِقْبَال, and ask: هَل عِنْدَكُم غُرْفَة خَالِيَة؟ The word خَالِيَة is feminine because غُرْفَة is feminine. Say for how many people with لِـ: غُرْفَة لِشَخْص وَاحِد, “a room for one person”, and غُرْفَة لِشَخْصَيْن, “for two people”. Say for how long with لَيْلَة: لَيْلَة وَاحِدَة, “one night”, and لِلَيْلَتَيْن, “for two nights”. If you have a booking, say عِنْدِي حَجْز بِاسْمِي.

Class activity

Write a talk at a hotel reception, six lines. Greet the clerk, ask for a free room, say for how many people and nights, ask where the lift is and thank him. Then read both parts aloud.
