Explanation

Your term project is called ‘Share a discovery’. In a group, you research one important Egyptian discovery from the past. Your teacher gives a list to choose from. Plan it on a planning page. First, give each person a role: leader, researcher, note-taker, designer and speaker. Name the adults you can ask for help. Choose your sources: a book, the school library, and a teacher-approved online library, searched with an adult. Make a tidy folder plan, take notes in your own words, write a list of sources in alphabetical order, and prepare a short presentation. Draw your own pictures instead of copying photos. Check your work against the checklist before you present.

Class activity

Planning page. As a group, make a planning page on paper: the discovery (from the teacher’s list), five roles, two adults who can help, three approved sources, your folder plan, and your five-slide outline. Use this checklist: own words, quotation marks for exact words, credit given, my own drawings, list of sources A to Z, safe searching with an adult. Tick each item.

2
Which role writes notes in own words and the list of sources?
