Practical lesson. Foreign policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan
Foreign policy is a state’s activity in conducting relations with other states and international organisations. Uzbekistan’s foreign policy rests on the principles of the sovereign equality of states, refraining from the use or threat of force, inviolability of borders, peaceful settlement of disputes, non-interference in internal affairs, respect for human rights and mutually beneficial cooperation. The country follows a course of not joining military-political blocs and alliances. Uzbekistan became a member of the United Nations on 2 March 1992; it also cooperates with structures such as the CIS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and the Organization of Turkic States. International relations are conducted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, embassies and consulates; consulates help protect the rights of our citizens abroad.
“Ambassador”: two groups represent two “states” and negotiate one question on trade, culture or ecology; observers judge whether the principles were followed.
