Review tasks (2)

Textbook: pp. 134–136
GoalApplies all spreadsheet features (calculation, chart, sorting, filter, linked sheets) in one task and keeps data safe.
New words
linked sheets: a formula that takes a value from another sheet, such as =Sheet2!B2 · varaqlar bog‘lanishishare: a part of the total, often as a per cent · ulushbackup: an extra copy of the file kept in another place · zaxira nusxaview permission: sharing a file so others can read but not change it · ko‘rish ruxsati
Explanation

In the final task several features are used together. For example, sheet 1 holds the grand total and sheet 2 holds the values by class (for example the number of books collected); a cell on sheet 1 is linked to sheet 2 by a formula like =SUM(Sheet2!B2:B5), so if a number on sheet 2 changes, the total updates itself. A share is calculated with part · 100 : whole, a pie chart is built on sheet 3, and the values are sorted in descending order and filtered by a condition if needed. When finished, check that headers, units and chart titles are right. Save the file regularly and keep a backup on another device or in the cloud; when sharing files with personal data give “view only” permission and use a strong password. The program should be legal: free LibreOffice or Google Sheets are a good choice.

Worked examples
Books collected by classes (made-up data): 120, 80, 100, 100 – total 120 + 80 + 100 + 100 = 400. The second class’s share is 80 · 100 : 400 = 20 per cent. On sheet 1 the cell =SUM(Sheet2!B2:B5) shows 400.
Interest: 2,000,000 so‘m, 5 per cent a year, 2 years: 2,000,000 · 1.05 · 1.05 = 2,205,000 so‘m. With the rate in its own cell and the formula B*(1+M/100)^A a table can be built for 5, 7, 9 and 10 years.
Class activity

“Final project”: a group builds a 3-sheet workbook with made-up data: data, calculation and chart; applies sorting and a filter, and presents the result to the class.

Practice
1
What does the formula =Sheet2!B2 do?
2
The values are 120, 80, 100, 100. What per cent is the second one’s share?
3
How much will 2,000,000 so‘m be after 2 years at 5 per cent a year (compound)?
4
Why give “view only” permission and keep a backup when sharing a file with personal data?
