GoalMake a spring garden picture from coloured paper and cotton wool.
New words
spring · bahorgarden, orchard · bog‘to blossom · gullamoqbranch · shox
Explanation
In spring, trees blossom, grass turns green and birds return. We make the tree trunk from brown paper and the blossoms from small bits of white or pink cotton wool. We can also tear paper with our fingers, without scissors, to make shapes.
Worked examples
A brown trunk and branches + white cotton blossoms + torn green paper grass + a yellow sun.
Class activity
Steps: 1) Glue blue sky paper and green ground paper onto card. 2) Cut or tear a brown trunk and branches. 3) Pull off small bits of cotton wool and glue them on the branches; the tree is in blossom! 4) Add the sun, a bird and flowers. Safety: keep cotton wool away from your nose and mouth.
