New words
rainbow · kamalakstrip · yo‘lakcollage (cut-and-paste picture) · applikatsiya
Explanation
A rainbow has 7 colours: red, orange, yellow, green, light blue, blue, violet. A collage (applikatsiya) is a picture made by cutting paper pieces and gluing them onto a base. We glue the colours in rainbow order.
Worked examples
The red arc is on top, the violet arc at the bottom.
Class activity
Steps: 1) Cut one thin strip from each colour (the teacher draws the lines). 2) Draw an arc on card with a pencil. 3) Bend the strips into arcs and glue them in order. 4) Add cotton-wool clouds at both ends. Safety: watch the line while cutting and never leave scissors open on the desk.
