Textbook pp. 48–49
GoalMake fruit, bread and other food from play-dough.
New words
play-dough, plasticine · plastilinto roll into a ball · yumaloqlamoqto stretch, roll long · cho‘zmoqbread · non
Explanation
The main play-dough moves are: rolling a ball, rolling a long stick between your palms, and pressing it flat. An apple is a ball, a banana is a bent stick, a round bread is a flat circle. We work on a modelling board.
Worked examples
A flat circle + a pattern pressed in the middle with a modelling tool = Uzbek round bread (non).
Class activity
Steps: 1) Put the board on the desk and warm the play-dough in your hands. 2) Make an apple from a red ball and a banana from a bent yellow stick. 3) Press brown play-dough flat for bread and make dots in the middle with a modelling tool or pencil tip. 4) Put all the food on a paper plate and play “shop”. Safety: hold the tool with the tip down, and never eat play-dough.
