Explanation
A swan is a white bird with a long neck. We fold a square in half, then fold two edges to the middle line, which makes a pointed shape. We fold the pointed end up to make the neck and head. Before folding, we line up the edges carefully.
Worked examples
A white square → a pointed shape → fold the neck up → glue it on a blue lake.
Class activity
Steps: 1) Fold the white square corner to corner and open it; you get a middle line. 2) Fold the two side edges to the middle line. 3) Fold the pointed end up for the neck and bend its tip down a little for the head. 4) Glue a blue lake on card, put the swan on it and draw an orange beak. Safety: smooth folds with your finger and use only a little glue.
