Explanation
Fish, octopuses, starfish and whales live in the sea. An octopus has 8 legs; we make them from paper strips. A starfish has 5 arms. We glue them all on a blue background to make a sea scene.
Worked examples
A purple circle head + 8 curled strips as legs = an octopus.
Class activity
Steps: 1) Glue blue paper (the sea) onto card. 2) Cut a circle and glue 8 thin strips under it; curl the strips around a pencil. 3) Cut a 5-armed starfish from yellow paper. 4) Add folded fish and bubbles. Safety: when curling strips around a pencil, point the pencil tip away from you.
