Rules for the technology lesson
Textbook pp. 8–9
GoalKnow the rules for working safely and tidily in the technology lesson.
New words
scissors · qaychiglue · yelimruler · chizg‘ichorder, tidiness · tartib
Explanation
Before we start, we listen to the task and put an oilcloth on the desk. We pass scissors only closed, handle first, with the sharp tip pointing away from ourselves and others. When we finish, we put paper scraps in the bin.
Worked examples
Right: close the scissors and hold out the handle to a friend. Wrong: walk around playing with scissors.
Class activity
“Right or wrong”: the teacher describes an action (e.g. “we put glue in our mouth”). Children nod if it is right and shake their heads if it is wrong.
