Textbook Part 2, pp. 7–9

Explanation

At home we have many dishes: a pot (qozon), teapot, bowl, tea bowl (piyola), saucer, plate. We eat with a spoon, fork and knife. The first dishes were made of clay and dried in the sun, later baked in a kiln. Today dishes are made of pottery, glass, metal, wood and plastic.

Worked examples
We pour tea from the teapot into a piyola (tea bowl).
Potters in Rishtan make beautiful clay platters.
Class activity

“Dish shop”: put different dishes (or pictures of them) on a table. Children sort them by material: pottery, glass, metal, wood, plastic. Then make a small bowl out of plasticine.
