Explanation

This week’s value: be patient. We wait for food to be ready or for our turn: “Wait, please.” When our turn comes: “It’s my turn!” To a friend: “It’s your turn.”

Worked examples
Story: Mom is baking a pie. Malika wants to eat it right away. Mom says: “Wait, please. It’s hot!” Malika waits. Then the pie is cool: “Mmm! Thank you, Mom!”
— It’s my turn! — No, wait, please. It’s Ali’s turn.
Class activity

“Taking turns”: children line up and take turns throwing a ball into a basket. Each says “It’s my turn!” before throwing and “It’s your turn.” to the next child.
