Explanation

Family words: mom, dad, brother, sister, grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle, cousin. Uzbek has different words for older and younger siblings (aka/uka, opa/singil), but English uses one word: brother or sister.

Mini chant: “Grandma, grandpa, come and play! Aunt and uncle, too, today!”
Class activity

“Finger family”: each finger is a family member. Children wiggle one finger at a time and say: “Dad, mom, brother, sister, baby.”
