Units 10–12: a poster and ‘Now I can’
A poster has a heading, pictures and short sentences. Use imperatives to invite people: Come, Swim, Look, Visit. Use adjectives: sunny, beautiful, colourful. Add rules with Don’t. Use the correct time words: in October, on Friday, at night. Here is a model poster about the Red Sea. After the poster, read the list ‘Now I can …’ and tick what you can do.

Come to the Red Sea!
The weather is sunny and warm. Swim in the clear water and look at the colourful fish. Take a boat trip in the morning. Eat fresh fish in the evening. Visit in October or in spring. Don’t touch the coral, and don’t drop litter. Take photos and enjoy your holiday!
Is there a heading?
Yes: Come to the Red Sea!
Are there rules?
Yes. Don’t touch the coral.
My poster. Make a poster for a place in Egypt that you like. Write a heading, six to eight sentences with imperatives and one rule with Don’t. Draw two pictures. Then tick the ‘Now I can’ list and tell the grown-up the three things you are best at.
