How about buying …? Healthy choices
We use How about + the -ing form to make a suggestion. How about buying some fruit? How about eating fish today? To make the -ing form we add -ing: eat, eating; buy, buying. If a verb ends in -e, we drop the e: make, making. We answer: Good idea! or No, thanks. A balanced diet has fruit, vegetables, bread, rice, milk and fish or beans. Sweet food is fine, but only a little. Read the food diaries and choose the healthiest.

I am hungry. How about making pizza?
Good idea, but we have no cheese. How about making a vegetable soup?
Yes, please! We have carrots and onions.
I eat ful and an egg for breakfast. At lunch I eat rice, chicken and salad. I drink water, not sweet drinks. After school I sometimes eat an apple. I would like to eat more fish.
My food diary. Draw three boxes: breakfast, lunch and dinner. Write what you eat in each box. Then the grown-up says How about eating …? and the child answers Good idea! or No, thanks.
