Four seasons and the water cycle
There are four seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter. In Egypt, spring is from March to May and flowers grow. Summer is from June to August and it is hot. Autumn is from September to November and the weather gets cooler. Winter is from December to February and it is cold. It is rainy in the north. Water moves in a cycle. The sun heats the water in the sea and the Nile. The water goes up. High in the sky it makes clouds. Rain falls and water goes back to the rivers and the sea.

How many seasons are there, Dad?
There are four: spring, summer, autumn and winter.
I like spring. There are flowers everywhere.
Summer is hot, so we drink a lot of water.
And in winter it rains in Alexandria. Where does the rain come from?
From clouds. The sun heats the sea, the water goes up and makes clouds.
The sun heats the water in the sea. The water goes up into the air. High in the sky it gets cold and makes clouds. The clouds get heavy and rain falls. The rain goes into rivers and the sea. Then the sun heats the water again. This is the water cycle.
Water cycle drawing. The child draws the sea and a sun on one side, clouds in the sky and rain falling on the other side. The child draws arrows from the water up to the cloud and down with the rain, and writes: The sun heats the water. Clouds form. Rain falls.
