Muhammad Yusuf’s poems
In the poem “Vatanim” the poet expresses love for the native land through warm images such as sister, mother, sympathizer, and recalls great names from history – Mashrab, Navoiy, Yassaviy, Muqanna, Shiroq, Jaloliddin, Bobur, Ulug‘bek and Qodiriy – in the image of the homeland. The textbook says that among them is the fate of creators who remained far from their land, and that some stanzas show the pain that graves of great men lie abroad. According to the textbook this poem became famous as a song because it was written not for boasting but from the heart. In “Mehr qolur” years pass, people pass, but affection and love remain, while gossip and envy burn a person. In “Yurtim, ado bo‘lmas armonlaring bor...” the poet recalls painful pages of the past, that is, the sons who gave their lives for the land and the wronged Cho‘lpon and Usmon Nosir, and also condemns the traitors who won position and fame by betraying great men such as Qodiriy. “Biz baxtli bo‘lamiz” is a love poem in which the lyric hero tells his beloved to endure slander and gossip; the textbook assigns it for independent analysis.
