Объяснение

For independent reading the textbook gives seven ghazals by Lutfiy: “Bu kechar jahonda, soqiy...”, “Holiyokim, davri ishrattur...”, “Haq ul kunkim, jamoling bor etibdur...”, the ghazal with the radif “Ne bo‘lursan”, the one with the radif “Qilg‘ali”, “Nozuklik ichra belicha yo‘q...” and “Suratingda xomayi sun‘ erdi...”. Read them in this order: first count the couplets and find the matla‘ and maqta‘; then separate the rhyme and radif; then write each couplet’s meaning in your own words; then look for symbols and devices (tazod, talmih, tashbeh); finally ask whether the ghazal follows one thought or its couplets stand alone. In classical poetry words like “may” and “soqiy” are often symbols, so do not take them simply as a drink. In Lutfiy’s ghazals praise of the beloved’s beauty, the pain of parting and a demand for faithfulness often appear, while ghazals such as “Ne bo‘lursan” and “Qilg‘ali” stand out through their radif.

Примеры
Example: in the ghazal with the radif “Ne bo‘lursan” the poet compares the beloved in each couplet to beautiful things such as a fairy, the moon or a cypress and asks rhetorically “what are you to them?” – meaning the beloved is even more beautiful. So the radif gives a questioning but praising tone. In the one with the radif “Qilg‘ali” the couplets end with “...qilg‘ali”, which expresses purpose.
Example: an analysis plan: 1) 7 couplets; 2) matla‘ – first couplet; maqta‘ – last couplet with the pen name; 3) rhyme – the final sounds, radif – the repetition after them; 4) theme – love or delight in life; 5) devices – tazod, talmih, irsoli masal.
