Mini dialogues
A mini dialogue has a beginning, a middle and an end. Begin with a greeting: Приве́т! (to a friend) or a polite hello (to a stranger). Then ask the name, say where you are from and say something about yourself, your age or your family. End with Спаси́бо and До свида́ния. In each answer use the question word you learned in this unit. Always stay with ты for friends and вы for strangers.

Role-play with a friend. Write a dialogue of eight lines: greeting, names, nice to meet you, where from, age, a question about family, thanks and goodbye. Read it aloud together twice, then change the names and the answers and play it again from memory.
