Russian A1 · Unit 10
GoalAsk yes–no questions with your voice and answer them.
New words
и́ли (íli) · orто́же (tózhe) · also, tooто́лько (tólʹko) · onlyконе́чно (konéshno) · of courseпра́вда? (právda) · really? is it true?
Explanation

A yes–no question uses the same words as a statement; only the voice changes. Say Э́то твой дом? and let your voice go up on the word you ask about, дом. Answer Да or Нет. Say Да, коне́чно for “yes, of course”. To say “also” use то́же: Мой брат то́же студе́нт. To choose between two things use и́ли: Э́то брат и́ли сестра́? Notice the written question mark is the only change on paper.
