Talking about my family
Now you can talk about your family. Join two nouns with wa, “and”: ʾabī wa ʾummī, “my father and my mother”. The wa is written joined to the next word: وَأُمِّي. Give a name, a job or a country with the words you know: ʾakhī Karīm, ʾummī mudarrisa, ʾabī min miṣr. In ʾusratī, “my family”, the ة becomes ت before ī: ʾusra + ī = ʾusratī. Say three or four sentences about your own family, and count the people in Arabic.
| Sentence | Say | Meaning |
