Explanation

This is the review of unit 2. A verb sentence has a subject, a verb and an object, and both orders are possible. A question word comes first. To say “not” use لَا before a present verb and لَيْسَ without a verb. Adverbs such as دَائِمًا and نَادِرًا say how often, and لَا … أَبَدًا means “never”. Read the examples aloud, then write your own sentences.

Class activity

Write a short text of six sentences about a person you know. Use a subject, a verb and an object, at least one question to the reader, one sentence with لَا or لَيْسَ, and two adverbs of frequency. Give all words their vowels and read the text aloud.
