Keeping healthy
Answers are for parents and teachers.
1
Draw a food triangle. Put three foods in each of the three parts.
Eat lots: for example fruit, vegetables, rice. Eat some: for example milk, fish, beans. Eat a little: for example sweets, cake, chocolate.
2
Make a list of everything you ate today. Which parts of the triangle did the foods come from?
Answers differ. Praise any mix of foods and talk kindly about adding something from a part that is missing. No talk of weight or diets.
3
Show a grown-up how long you wash your hands. Sing a short song while you wash!
Hands should be washed with soap for about 20 seconds, including between the fingers.
4
Write or draw two things you do each day to stay healthy.
For example: eat fruit, play outside, sleep well, wash hands, brush teeth.
