The pages were looked over but the content and meaning were not grasped: reading is the outer process, understanding is grasping the meaning.

Why does the speech of a person who reads books grow richer? Write two or three sentences.
Books contain many new words, expressions, images and ideas; the reader remembers them and uses them in speech, so the speech becomes meaningful and fluent.
