Explanation
In a free-topic lesson we choose what to make. First we think: what will I make, which materials do I need, which method — cutting, folding, gluing or play-dough? For example, you can make a bird or animal from coloured paper circles. At the end we tidy our workplace.
Worked examples
A plan: “A kitten. Materials: grey circles, glue, a felt-tip pen. Method: cut and glue.”
Class activity
Steps: 1) Think about what you will make and tell your neighbour. 2) Put the materials you need on the desk. 3) Work step by step: big parts first, then small decorations. 4) Show your work to the class and tell how you made it. Safety: use scissors, glue and play-dough by the rules, and put scraps in the bin at the end.
