A day in my life: writing a blog and a check-up
A blog is a kind of online journal. Each piece of writing is called a post. A good post has four parts: a title, a short introduction, three or four details with time words (first, then, after that, in the evening) and a closing sentence. Use the present simple for habits and add adverbs of frequency: always, usually, often, sometimes, never. They go before the main verb (I usually walk) and after be (She is always late). Use the present continuous for what is happening today or now: Today I am helping my aunt. A nice pattern is: I usually … , but today I am … . Keep your paragraph about 60 to 80 words (up to 100 if you can). Never put private details such as your address or school name in a post, and do not use emoji characters: write a word instead.
| Part of the post | What to write |
|---|---|
| Title | Give the day or place a name. |
| Introduction | Hi, readers! I usually … but today I am … |
| Details | First … Then … After that … (time words) |
| Closing | One feeling or one plan. See you next time! |
A Friday at the Village Market. Hi, readers! I usually stay at home on Fridays, but today I am helping my aunt at her fruit stall. First we put the oranges and grapes on the table. Then the customers arrive, and I weigh the fruit. Right now a lady is buying two kilos of grapes. I am always tired in the evening, but I am happy because I learn something new. See you next week!
Blog plan. Choose a topic and plan with a grown-up: a title, one introduction sentence with usually and today, three details with first, then and after that, and a closing. Write the post (60 to 80 words, up to 100 if you can), read it aloud and check every verb.
