Объяснение
The textbook has the story “Marvarid” (The pearl) by Meri Joslin, which reflects on friendship, wealth and true happiness. We do not retell it; we read our own text. To find cause and effect we ask “Why did it happen?”. In multiple-choice questions we first read the question carefully, then cross out the wrong answers one by one and choose the one that fits the text. We always check the answer in the text.
Примеры
“Joy that is shared”. Gulnoz won an olympiad and received a thick adventure book as a prize. Her classmate Aziza wanted to read that book very much, but the queue at the library was long. When Gulnoz finished the book, she gave it to Aziza. The two began to argue about the characters during breaks. Gulnoz said the book had become twice as dear to her. Joy does not shrink when shared; it grows.
Cause and effect: Gulnoz gave the book (cause) – the two girls became friends (effect). Sample test: Why did Gulnoz give the book? A) She disliked it. B) She knew her friend’s wish and wanted to share joy. D) She needed money. (Correct: B.)
