Объяснение
The textbook has the popular-science text “Suvda xotira bor” (Water has a memory) with properties of water and views of some researchers. We do not retell it; we read our own text. Water exists in three states: liquid, solid (ice) and gaseous (vapour). A large part of the human body is water. When reading we separate fact from claim: a fact has been checked and confirmed in many sources, while a claim may still be unproven. Most scientists consider the ideas about water’s “memory” mentioned in the textbook to be unproven, so such statements must be checked.
Примеры
“About water”. Water is the most necessary substance for life on Earth. It occurs in three states: liquid in a river, solid as ice in winter, and as vapour when it boils. Ice does not sink in water but floats on top. More than half of a human body is made of water. So we must drink enough clean water every day. Saving water means caring for the future.
Fact: ice floats on water. Claim (needs checking): “water hears music”. Question: who proved it, and how?
Работа в классе
“Fact or claim?”: the teacher reads sentences; children raise a “fact” or “needs checking” card.
