A verb (fe’l) is a word that shows what a person or thing does, its action. We ask it Nima qildi? Nima qilyapti? Nima qiladi?: yozdi (wrote), o‘qiyapti (is reading), uxlaydi (sleeps). In a sentence the verb is often the predicate. Words used in place of a noun are pronouns. Personal pronouns: men (I), sen (you), u (he/she), biz (we), siz (you, polite/plural), ular (they). They answer Kim?.

Dilnoza maktabga ketdi. (Dilnoza went to school.) U darsga kech qolmadi. (She was not late for the lesson.) «U» stands in place of Dilnoza (pronoun). «Ketdi», «qolmadi» are verbs.
