Talking about my family
Now join the pieces. Start with Э́то (this is), then the person, the name and the age. For a name say его́ зову́т (a boy) or её зову́т (a girl): Её зову́т Мади́на. For age use ему́ or ей and лет, as in Unit 6. Add он студе́нт or она́ студе́нтка to say what the person does. Use и to link things that go together, and а when you add something different: Э́то брат, а э́то сестра́. Older and younger brothers and sisters are ста́рший брат and мла́дшая сестра́.
