Explanation
The numbers 11 to 19 are the digit plus -на́дцать, which means “on ten”. Оди́н becomes оди́ннадцать, два becomes двена́дцать, три becomes трина́дцать. In most of them the stress falls on -на́-: двена́дцать, пятна́дцать, девятна́дцать. Only 11 and 14 are stressed earlier: оди́ннадцать, четы́рнадцать. The letters дц sound like one long “ts”, and every teen ends in the soft sign ь.

Class activity
Write the numbers 10 to 20 on cards, with the stress mark. Read them in order, then in a mixed order, and say the stressed part louder. Play “plus one”: a friend says a number (for example пять), you say the next one (шесть) and so on up to два́дцать.
