Explanation

This lesson uses all the question words of unit 8. Choose the word by the answer you expect: a thing (إِيه), a person (مِين), a place (فِين), a time (إِمْتَى), a reason (لِيه), a way or state (إِزَّاي), a number (كَام) or a price (بِكَام). For a yes–no question, keep the sentence and raise your voice. Answer with أَيْوَه or لَأ, and use مِش for «not». Speak to a man with إِنْتَ and to a woman with إِنْتِي.

Class activity

Interview a friend, a family member or yourself with eight questions, one for each question word. Write both the questions and the answers. Use the man or woman form of «you» each time. Then read your interview aloud like a conversation.
