Things around me: review

Egyptian Arabic A1 · Unit 7
GoalDescribe things around you with this, the, adjectives and colours.
New words
دَه كِتَاب أَحْمَر (da kitāb aḥmar) · this is a red bookدِي شَنْطَة جَدِيدَة (di shanṭa gadīda) · this is a new bagالشَّنْطَة مِش كِبِيرَة (ish-shanṭa mish kibīra) · the bag is not big
Explanation

This lesson uses everything from unit 7. Build a sentence in three steps: first دَه or دِي, then the noun, then the adjective or colour. Check the gender of the noun and match the adjective. Colours change shape in the feminine. Use مِش for «not» and أَوِي for «very». With «the» you can also say الكِتَاب الأَحْمَر (the red book): both words get اَل.
