GoalDescribe the steps to add a picture to a document, name and save files clearly, and plan pictures for my research.
New words
insert · to add a picture or shape into a documentfile · saved work on a device, such as a picture or a documentfile name · the name we find the file bycrop · to cut away the parts of a picture you do not need
Explanation
A word processor has graphic tools too. The steps to add a picture are similar in most programs: open the document, find the Insert tab in the menu bar, choose Pictures, choose the picture file, then check its size and place. The steps differ a little from one program or device to another, so ask your teacher if yours looks different. A drawing program can also crop a photo, which means cutting away the parts you do not need, change its size, and leave white space for writing text. Give every file a clear name, such as camel-drinking, and not just “picture1”, so you can find it later, and save it in a folder you will remember.
Open the document→Find the Insert tab→Choose Pictures→Pick the picture file→Check size and place
