Review: more sounds and Now I can
Look back at the sounds of Units 10 to 12. ai and a-e say ay, like the name of the letter a: train, cake. i-e and igh say the long i, like the word eye: kite, night. Say the sound, then the word. Then look at what you can do now: talk about rooms and furniture, shapes, toys, feelings, travel and directions.
| Sound | Words |
|---|---|
| ai | rain, train, snail |
| a-e | cake, snake, grapes |
| i-e | kite, bike, slide |
| igh | night, light, high |

I can name the rooms in my home. I can say the shapes. I can say how I feel. I can ask the way and give directions.
Now I can. The child holds up a finger for each thing they can do: name rooms and furniture, say four shapes, name toys, say how I feel, say how people travel, give directions with left and right. Draw a star for each one.
