Review of the year
Answers are for parents and teachers.
1
Find something at home that would be thrown away. Give it a new job, and tell a grown-up how you reused it.
For example: a jam jar for pencils, a yoghurt pot for growing a seed, a box for toys.
2
Play force charades with your family. Act out a push, a pull, a squash and a twist. Can they guess which one you are doing?
For example: pushing a pram, pulling a rope, squashing a cushion, twisting a jar lid.
3
In your bathroom, find one thing that is waterproof and one thing that is absorbent. Say why each material is right for its job.
For example: a shower curtain is waterproof, so water stays in the bath; a towel is absorbent, so it dries us.
4
Keep a healthy-day chart for one day. Tick each time you drink water, eat fruit or vegetables, play outside, wash your hands and brush your teeth.
Any honest chart. Talk about one thing that went well.
5
Make a list of five light sources you see this week. Which ones use electricity?
For example: the Sun (no), a ceiling light (yes), a phone screen (yes, from a cell), a torch (yes, from cells), the stars (no).
