Growing
Answers are for parents and teachers.
1
Ask a grown-up to tell you three things you could not do when you were a baby but can do now.
For example: walk, talk, eat solid food, dress yourself, ride a bike, read.
2
Draw a young animal and the adult it grows into. Write their names.
For example: puppy and dog, kitten and cat, chick and hen, calf and cow, lamb and sheep.
3
Measure your hand span or your foot with a ruler. Next month, measure it again. Did it change?
Children’s hands and feet usually grow a little over a few months. The result depends on the child.
4
Tell a grown-up two things that change and two things that stay the same when an animal grows up.
Changes: size, weight, teeth, fur or feathers. Stays the same: the kind of animal and the number of legs.
