Explanation
Over the year we learnt that plants and animals are linked; the human body is made of organ systems; immunity protects against disease. The atmosphere, water and lithosphere are Earth’s shells. Minerals, soil and water must be saved. Forces — gravity, friction, elasticity — affect the motion of bodies. The Earth spinning on its axis makes day and night; going round the Sun it makes the seasons. The Sun is a star and Earth is one of eight planets. Studying space is the result of knowledge and shared effort. Protecting nature is everyone’s job.
Worked examples
Moon → Earth → Solar System → galaxy: from small to large.
Class activity
Year end: prepare a short talk “My favourite topic” with a picture, 3 facts and one question.
Practice
1
Why do seasons change?
The axis is tilted and the Earth orbits the Sun.
2
What is the Earth’s natural satellite?
The Moon.
3
What do you do to protect nature?
I save resources, sort waste and care for plants and animals.
