Naming and writing three-digit numbers

Textbook: Part 2, lesson 44, pp. 8–9
GoalThree-digit numbers with a zero (203, 450, 604).
New words
zero · nolsum of place values · xona yig‘indisidigit · raqamten · o‘nlik
Explanation

If a place is empty, we write 0 there. 203 = 2 hundreds 0 tens 3 ones = 200 + 3. 450 = 4 hundreds 5 tens 0 ones. 604 and 406 use the same digits but are different numbers: the position of a digit changes its value.

Worked examples
700 + 6 = 7 hundreds 6 ones = 706.
800 + 40 = 840, but 800 + 4 = 804.
Class activity

“Find the zero”: write five numbers on the board (305, 350, 35, 503, 530). Children say which numbers have a zero and in which place it stands.
