Naming and writing three-digit numbers

Explanation
A three-digit number has three digits: the first is hundreds, the middle is tens, the last is ones. 324 = 3 hundreds 2 tens 4 ones – “uch yuz yigirma to‘rt” (three hundred twenty-four). We can also say 32 tens and 4 ones.
Worked examples
5 hundreds 8 tens 3 ones = 583.
276 = 2 hundreds 7 tens 6 ones = 27 tens 6 ones.
Class activity
“Digit cards”: each child has cards 0–9. The teacher says “4 hundreds, 1 ten, 7 ones” and children lay out the cards to make 417 and read it.
