My actions
Textbook pp. 94–100
GoalUnderstand that every action leaves a good or bad “trace”.
New words
action, behaviour · xatti-harakattrace, footprint · izgood name · yaxshi nomimpression · taassurot
Explanation
When we walk on sand, we leave footprints. Our actions leave traces too: some we can see (a planted tree, a tidy room), some we feel (a friend’s joy or hurt). Good deeds leave a good name in people’s memory. After a picnic we leave no rubbish in nature.
Worked examples
In spring the class planted an apricot sapling in the schoolyard. Years later new pupils play in its shade — that is a good trace.
Class activity
“Seen and felt traces”: the teacher names an action (planting a flower, upsetting a friend, comforting a little sister...); children place it in one of two columns on the board.
Practice
1
Which action leaves a visible good trace?
For example: planting a flower, tidying the room
2
You upset a friend. Is that trace seen or felt?
Felt
3
What should we do before leaving a picnic?
Collect the rubbish and put it in a bin
